Understanding Grooming at XMMO
At XMMO, money does not buy control over a cat. Booking a service does not mean it will be performed. If a cat shows fear, stress, or refusal, we will stop or deny the service immediately — no exceptions. Owners cannot force grooming simply because they want it done.
Please do not leave negative reviews when we choose your cat’s safety over your expectations. We are not a salon that “does whatever you pay for.” We groom with consent, dignity, and respect — always.

Grooming with Full Body Clipping
These services below involve full-body clipping and are not always suitable for first-time grooming cats. Training and tolerance are essential.
A short to skin cut with pom-pom tail
⚠️ Only choice suitable for cats with matting
A rounded, plush carpet length with round face look
⚠️ Not suitable for cats with matting
A longer cut designed to keep warmth while reducing bulk.
✔️ Only available for long-haired cats with no matting.
Deshedding Wash
This is often the best first grooming experience.

Brushing and undercoat removal (up to 10 minutes)
We do not brush all shedding out in one session, as this can be stressful. Instead, we recommend a routine every 8–10 weeks to keep shedding manageable at home.
Matting Policy
Please read carefully
Matting requires extra time, care, and risk management — this is why it is always charged separately, even when booked with a shave.

We do not accept full-body severe matting, especially on first appointments

We do not sedate cats — severe matting should be handled by a vet-based grooming service

All matting removal is additional, including with a Lion Cut

Only Lion Cuts are suitable for cats with matting

Teddy Bear and Winter Cuts require zero matting
If matting is found on the day, we will consult you while assessing your cat for best option. We also reserve the right to deny service to shave your cat on the date of booking if your cat shows sign of extreme stresses.

Fleas Policy
XMMO is a flea-free salon

If a cat is found with heavy flea infestation, we may stop the service and return the cat home

If you suspect fleas, apply a topical flea treatment at home first

Book a wash 4–5 days after treatment to remove flea dirt and residue
-
A flea cleaning fee may apply if live fleas are still present
This policy protects all cats in our care.
Handling, Behaviour & Safety Fees
Some cats bite or scratch. In these cases:

A special handling fee up to $30 applied

This fee has limits — if a cat is too aggressive or distressed, we will stop the service
We also reserve the right to decline any haircut if a cat is clearly showing signs of fear, distress, or refusal.
We are not a salon that takes money to do whatever is requested.
We groom with respect, safety, and dignity — for your cat and our staff.
