01 — Why We Treat It Differently to Everything Else
Ringworm isn't a skin issue. It's a biosecurity one.
On XMMO's internal skin and coat reference — the same one every groomer trains on — ringworm sits in its own category: zoonotic, high risk. That's not us being dramatic. Ringworm is a fungal infection that spreads not just cat-to-cat, but cat-to-human, and its spores can survive in an environment for a long time, which is exactly why it needs isolation, protective handling, and thorough cleaning of anything it touches.
- Looks like circular bald patches with flaky, crusty edges and broken hairs rather than clean bald skin.

02 — Ringworm Medicated Wash & Dry
A wash built to reduce fungal spores, not just clean the coat.
Our Ringworm Medicated Wash & Dry is a specialised treatment for cats already diagnosed with ringworm (dermatophyte) or another fungal or bacterial skin infection. It's designed to reduce fungal spores on the coat and support whatever treatment plan your vet has already prescribed — it works alongside the medication, not in place of it.

The shampoo itself is keratoplastic and keratolytic — it helps lift scale and debris from the skin's surface, supporting healthier skin and coat while the infection clears.
03 — The Routine That Actually Clears It
Ringworm doesn't respond to a single wash. It responds to a schedule.
Fungal spore reduction is a numbers game — the more consistently the coat is treated, the faster the spore count drops and the lower the risk to other cats and people in the household.
- 2× / week — for the first 4–5 weeks, to actively reduce spores
- Monthly — maintenance washes once the infection is under control, until hair has fully regrown
Regular medicated bathing, combined with your vet's prescribed medication and thorough cleaning at home, gives your cat the best possible path to a full recovery — and shortens the window where anyone else in the house is at risk.

This wash is only available for cats already diagnosed with ringworm or another fungal skin infection by a veterinarian. It's designed to complement veterinary treatment, not substitute for medical diagnosis or medication.
If you're seeing bald patches or crusty skin and haven't seen a vet yet, that's the first step — we're glad to be part of the recovery plan once there's a diagnosis to work from.
